
There is something in the fruit cellar…and it’s the shockingly good and popular(!) remake to Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead.
Yes, the Hollywood reboot of the cult horror was welcomed with mostly open arms by fans and newbies alike when it grossed close to $100 million worldwide last April. Co-written and directed by first time feature helmer Fede Alvarez, the filmmakers paid tribute to the originals by wisely doing their own thing without any large chins…but there was still plenty of chainsaws and a preponderance of severed limbs.
Well, in buildup to the July 16 release of the splatter film’s DVD and Blu-ray release, Ghost House Pictures and Film District have kindly released to Shock Till You Drop the first 10 minutes of the flick. Click below at your own risk…
I truly enjoyed the film and hope we have not seen the last of its lone survivor and their chainsaw arm. Hopefully, an Ash team-up will be in the offing. After all, did anyone not notice the Oldsmobile in the above clip?
Perhaps by then we’ll get the NC-17 version of this movie as well.
