With Transformers: Age of Extinction on the horizon, Paramount is pushing right on to Transformers 5.
Transformers 5 is coming in 2016. Yes, you read that right. Paramount seems so confident that Transformers: Age of Extinction will keep the franchise from going the way of the Dinobot that they informally announced it today at CineEurope, right before screening Transformers 4 in advance of its official world premiere.
There isn't any hint of an actual release date for Transformers 5 yet, but you can bet your allspark that it will be between May and July. Also promised for 2016 are the new Beverly Hills Cop, GI Joe 3, Star Trek 3 (no surprise there), Hansel and Gretel 2, and Paranormal Activity 5. See a pattern with any of these?
We'll see if Paramount's other big summer releases for 2014, Herculesand Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles end up performing well enough to jump on the sequel parade that Paramount is running.
