Nic Cage's new flick has a trailer and plenty of Cage.
Rage Cage! Everyone’s favorite over-acting, eccentric millionaire, and puzzling project picker Nicolas Cage is back in a new trailer for his film Outcast.
Does he sport a crazy haircut? Yes. Is he using an insane accent? Indeed. Does he laugh like the crazy possum king that he is? Of course!
The new film, Outcast, is classic Cage, because A. It is a movie and B. He is in it. The character Cage plays is known as “The White Ghost,” which sounds exactly like a character that Nic Cage would sign on to play.
In all seriousness, Outcast is a period action flick set in 12 Century China and centers on the power struggle between children of a fallen Chinese Emperor and their conniving uncle. Cage and co-star Hayden Christensen, the anti-Cage, star as ex-Crusaders who lend a hand to the struggling family members of the deceased emperor. Director Nick Powell, a former stuntman turned director, shot the film on-location in China, working from a script penned by James Dormer (The Holding).
The film also stars Liu Yifei, Summer Jikejunyi, and Andy On and will be released September 26 in China and February 27, 2015 here in the States. Deadline has the exclusive trailer which we’ve embedded for you here.
