That creepy doll from The Conjuring, Annabelle, stars in her own movie.
Creepy dolls seem to be following me around lately. I traced an urban creepy doll legend to its source recently and Annabelle, the doll from last year’s horror masterwork The Conjuring, has a similar real-life counterpart and I find that irresistible.
New Line Cinema dropped trailer to Anabelle, the supernaturally thrilling prequel spinoff to The Conjuring. "Sometimes demons get attached to objects" says the trailer, and there is a strong belief that this is true. It started a massive rumor in Singapore a few months ago.
Annabelle was the breakout star of The Conjuringand she is now attached to her own franchise. Annabelle, the doll, is locked up in an occult museum in Connecticut. She lives a lonely life, no one plays with her but a priest who comes twice a month to bless her. Apparently the blessings don’t take.
The trailer shows John Form buying the perfect present for his pregnant wife Mia, a vintage doll he apparently found in the occult museum’s gift shop. According to the official YouTube Channel "On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now...Annabelle."
Last summer, low-budget horror pic The Conjuring pulled in $318 million which earned it three spinoffs. Annabellestars Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Ward Horton, Tony Amendola, Eric Ladin and Brian Howe. It is directed by John R. Leonetti, director of photography on The Conjuring. Annabelleopens Oct. 3
