A new video reveals the first official look at the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Episode VII...but with a surprise.
Is the little social media fiasco going on between JJ Abrams and Zack Snyder escalating into a pissing contest? They're just having fun, we know. But this latest video from the Bad Robot folks sure does seem to up their game...
Alright, enough of my rambling. Watch it here, and then we'll take a closer look at this together.
Yes, that's exactly what you think it is.
While the productions of Star Wars: Episode VII and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice have been having this kind of fun with each other for several months now, this is, by far the most intricate and revealing piece of viral marketing/guerilla warfare. It's interesting to note that both this and the recent Stormtrooper/Batmobile photo from Zack Snyder seem to serve the same purpose: dealing with the internet being annoying. Mr. Snyder posted the Stormtrooper photo as a response to unfounded rumor that the Batmobile had been stolen on the streets of Detroit, and this Millennium Falcon reveal is certainly a reaction to the wave of low-quality spy photos that have been snapped of partially construced spaceships in recent months.
This is fun and all, but can these guys please get back to business? We need that Star Wars: Episode VII title, and a confirmation of who is playing who in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice would be nice (we're looking squarely at Jason Momoa and Scoot McNairy when we say that).
