Interstellar has released a new poster and mobile app game in anticipation of the Christopher Nolan event film.
Perhaps only Chris Nolan could get gamers excited about playing a mobile app that was in part designed by theoretical physicist Kip Thorne!
Yep, while the movie Interstellar is still over a month away from release, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Legendary are getting the word out now on what aims to be everyone’s favorite iPhone movie tie in by Thanksgiving.
This mobile Interstellar app, gamers get to captain the Endurance (the ship from the Christopher Nolan movie) through a solar system that they are allowed to design and customize through literal world-building (and moon-building) physics that were “conceptualized” by Kip Thorne. The primary objective is to explore this solar system without running out of fuel or crashing into a son, planet, moon, errant asteroid, etc. Click here to play. The game is also available right now for free on Google Play for phones and tablets. It will be available on iOS for free next week.
But for this less interactive-inclined movie fans, Interstellar was kind enough to also release its third poster this week.
Interstellar is a mysterious adventure about a group of scientists and explorers who must go into space to save mankind’s destiny following a negative effect on Earth’s crops. It can sound a bit vague, but you can head over to our Interstellar: Everything We Know article for more details about this intentional mystery.
The movie is based on a script written by Jonathan Nolan (originally meant for Steven Spielberg to direct) and Christopher Nolan, and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, John Lithgow, and Michael Caine.
Interstellar takes off November 7, 2014.
