Commitments to Star Trek 13 mean that Roberto Orci is no longer involved in the Power Rangers movie reboot...
Given the rather busy slate of Roberto Orci, there was a sense that something had to give with regards his collection of upcoming projects. And something duly has: he's dropped out of his role in the Power Rangers movie reboot.
Orci had been down to executive produce the film, and to oversee the script being prepared by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller. However, his commitments to the next Star Trek film have put an end to that. Orci, who has co-written the Star Trek sequel screenplay alongside Patrick McKay and J D Payne, is set to direct the movie. And that means no time for Power Rangers.
The Power Rangers film, and the new Star Trek film, are both set for release in the summer of 2016.
