The sequel to The Maze Runner is coming, and it's under a year away...
Given that The Maze Runner opened to over $30m at the US box office over the weekend, making its global box office haul just north of $80m and counting, it's little surprise that 20th Century Fox is pressing ahead with more films. Author James Dashner has written plenty of Maze Runner books, and Fox is wasting little time adapting them.
As such, the next movie will be The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. And you're not going to have to wait too long for it at all. It's been dated for September 18th 2015 - that's just under a year away, according to our Jason Statham Desk Calendar. It's unclear yet if Wes Ball is returning to direct.
