Will Robert Downey Jr return for Marvel's Iron Man 4? Well, possibly...
For some time now, the position on a fourth Iron Manmovie has been that there isn't one.Iron Man 3 rounded that trilogy off, and while we're going to see the character in Avengers: Age Of Ultron and whatever The Avengers 3 ends up being called, Iron Man 4seemed to be missing from Marvel's schedule.
Yet in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Downey Jr has gone from saying that a fourth film won't be happening, to something just a little more cryptic. "I'm sure we'll ride that thing. You've got to surf that all the way into shore," he said.
Nope, we're not sure what he's going on about either.
Still, he continued: "I think I was at the forefront of something that was coming into being, and I think it has carried me as much as I have informed it. That's the healthy way to look at it. It's so easy to become inflated by the successes, but what they really are are long, strong trends. It's just another wave."
Nope. Still not getting it.
But: it's no longer him saying Iron Man 4 isn't happening. Now, he's saying it involves surfing. Er, we think...
