Stephen King has been pretty chatty about his movie projects, and now he's talking about The Stand movie...or movies.
It seems like just the other day (wait, it was just the other day!) that Stephen King was talking about Ron Howard's ambitious adaptation of his Dark Towerseries. Well, what about his other insane epic, The Stand? Doesn't that have a movie version on the way? Yes it does. And it might be more than one movie.
Mr. King was chatting with MTV(and this all comes to us via Vulture) about Josh Boone, the gent who directed The Fault in Our Stars and who is currently set to direct The Stand, and his take on the material. King described Boone's take on the story as "terrific." Much more tellingly, though, he said "don't count on it being one film...there's talk of doing it in an entirely different and innovative way, and I don't want to go there because that's Josh's baby."
Could that "entirely different and innovative way" be something similar to the movies and TV approach of The Dark Tower? It seems a little obvious given the circumstances here, but The Stand is certainly bigger than just one movie.
