If Sylvester Stallone wants to keep making The Expendables movies, Jason Statham for one will be happy to remain on board...
NewsEven though The Expendables III fell short both with its box office take (just over $200 million worldwide, well down on previous instalments) and its rating (PG-13? Sigh), it still comfortably turned a profit. Furthermore, it's still a franchise with active tentacles. An Expendables TV show is planned, there's the female-led The ExpendaBelles, and The Expendables 4is still likely to happen.
And Jason Statham, for one, is likely to stay involved.
He's played the role of Lee Christmas in three Expendables movies so far, and he said to IGN that "working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a 'pinch yourself' moment ... to be directed by him in a movie that he's produced, and to be shoulder-to-shoulder with Sly is a privilege anyone who loves action movies would never turn their nose up at."
So with relation to more The Expendables sequels? "I'll do as many as he wants," The Statham added.
"It's not my thing to dream up the ideas and what's in store", he noted though. "One, do I want to do another one? Two, are people tired of it already? You don't know."
Our guess? Expect The Expendables 4 in the next couple of years...
