Steven Spielberg is on hand to explain why Jurassic World is the realization of John Hammond's dream in Jurassic Park.
NewsWhen you watch any trailer for Jurassic World, certain things work no matter what. The soaring orchestrations of John Williams, the echoed line deliveries from Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond, and oh yeah, the dinosaurs. So much of this is inspirationally or literally taken straight out of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 popcorn masterpiece Jurassic Park that it can even be hard to separate the nostalgia for that classic with the franchise’s fourth entry.
Indeed, Spielberg himself is appearing in the newly released behind-the-scenes featurette to help connect these two films separated by 22 years. So, below is the video where Spielberg explains why Jurassic World realizes the promise of Hammond’s dream in Jurassic Park.
Jurassic World is the fourth trip to Isla Nublar (or Isla Sorna) and its legendary inhabitants, just off the coast of Costa Rica. This time though, it is a fully functioning theme park visited the world over by tourists. I’m sure everything will go swimmingly from there. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film also includes the cast of Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Idris Elba, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, and Irrfan Khan. The film is set to raise its gates on June 12, 2015.
