Chris Pine may be in line to play the love interest in the Wonder Woman movie.
Well, it would appear that you can forget about those Chris Pine as Green Lantern rumors, because he may be lending his star power to another DC property. The Wonder Woman movie needs a Steve Trevor, and it sounds like Chris Pine may be the man who gets to be rescued by Gal Gadot.
In recent DC Comics, Steve Trevor is a government liaison who interacts frequently with teams like the Justice League and Suicide Squad. Perhaps if he inks his deal with Warner Bros. soon enough we'll see him pop up in the Suicide Squad movie. There had been early reports that Scott Eastwood was playing Steve Trevor over in Suicide Squad, but that didn't pan out.
Perhaps Pine's Steve Trevor, like Viola Davis' Amanda Waller, could serve as the "glue" of the DC Cinematic Universe, much in the same way that characters like Nick Fury and Phil Coulson have for Marvel.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is set to open on June 23rd, 2017.
